Lauren Chapman Ruiz is a Senior Interaction Designer at Cooper, where she solves complex service design challenges for a range of clients from agile start-ups to Fortune 500. She also teaches at the undergrad and graduate level at California College of the Arts. With a passion for education, she has developed service design, design research, and foundational interaction design curricula both in the professional and academic arena.
She is particularly excited about challenges within cross-channel services, connected devices, and making sense of complex data related to health/wellness. She coordinates design education for Rock Health, develops and teaches curriculum for CooperU, and is fostering greater service design and research practices at Cooper.
Prior to settling in San Francisco, Lauren worked at the technology design firm MAYA Design, taught with the LUMA Institute, and worked with the innovation firm Second Road in Australia. Lauren holds a Master of Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in English with minors in Graphic Design & Journalism from Loyola Marymount University.
